Grasmück, Johannes

Pastor Johannes Grasmück, son of Ludwig Grasmück & Maria Bender, was born 11 June 1883 in the Volga German colony of Lauwe.

He studied theology at the University of Dorpat (Estonia) and was ordained 11 November 1912. He served in Grimm (1912-1913) and Brunnental (1913-1932).

His wife was the daughter of Pastor Johannes Kosciol.

Graf, Joseph

Father Joseph Graf was born in Volmer.

Father Graf studied theology at the Catholic Seminary in Saratov and was ordained on 25 August 1892. He served the parish in Mariental from 1892-1897 and in Hölzel from 1897 to 1903.

Beginning on 2 October 1903, he served as vicar in the parish Taganrog and served in the coal mine district of Berestovo-Kinsk and Rykovsk. From 1917 to 1918, he served in Simferopol in the Crimea.

Graf, George Henry

George Henry Graf, son of Johann Christian Graf, was born 30 March 1872 in Dobrinka and died 22 April 1948 at his home in Troutdale, Oregon. He was married to Catharina Elizabeth Clauser, daughter of Georg Heinrich Clauser (born 2 March 1835) and Anna Catharina Sophia Wolf (born 5 February 1837). She was born 28 April 1872 in Dobrinka and died 6 October 1925 in Portland, Oregon. Pastor Graf was ordained as a Congregational pastor in 1911 at Ebenezer Congregational Church in Sheboygan, Wisconson.

Gorne, Andreas

The Rev. Andreas Gorne was born on 22 January 1870 in Ludwigstal. He served the congregations in Schöntal (1906-1908), Warenburg (1909-1912), and St. Peter's parish in Akmolinsk.

Glassmann, Peter

Father Peter Glassman was born 29 June 1852 in the Volga German colony of Rohleder. He studied theology and was ordained on 29 June 1875.

He began his service in 1887 in the Schuck Parish. He served the Kamenka Parish from 1906 to 1912. In 1904 he also served as priest in the Volmer Parish. From 1913 to 1914, he served in Husaren.

He resigned his call and spent his final days in Volmer where he died on 21 April 1917 [Schnurr records his death in 1926, but the tombstone indicates 21 April 1917].

Geier, George

George Geier was a German Congregational missionary working among the German Russians in Argentina. In 1921, he was licensed by Illinois Conference while working among four Argentine congregations.

Gareis, Adam

Father Gareis was born in 1885/1887 in the Volga German colony of Köhler.

He studied theology at the Catholic Seminary in Saratov and was ordained in 1911. He served the parishes of Sewald and Husaren. He also served a parish in Kazakhstan before returning to the Volga where he served again in Husaren from 1925 to 1929. In 1929, he began serving the parish of Pfeifer.
