Peter Will from Höchst in the area of Wetterau and widow Gertude Ross [should be Gross] from Schwickertshausen married on 3 May 1766 in Büdingen.

[Johann] Peter Will, his wife Gertrude, [her] children (Johann, age 16; Georg, age 15; Ludwig, age 11; Johann, age 6 [all surname Gross]), and his wife's sister Anna, age 48 [surname not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the barque named Fortitudo under the command of Skipper John Scott.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Schwab 12 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32.

Johannes Gross, son of the above referenced widow Gertrude Gross, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schwab in Household No. Sb26.

The death of Johann Philipp Gross, son of Johannes Gross, in 1817 is recorded on the 1834 census of Schwab in Household No. 71.

Johann Ludwig Gross, brother of Johann Philipp, is also recorded on the 1834 census of Schwab in Household No. 71 with a note that he moved to the colony of Dobrinka.

Ludwig Gross from Schwab and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 152.

The death of Ludwig Gross in 1845 is recorded on the 1850 census of Dobrinka in Household No. 192.

Ludwig Gross, son of the above referenced widow Gertrude Gross, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schwab in Household No. Sb30. Ludwig does not appear to have had any surviving male descendants.
