Heckel
Peter Heckel, a farmer, his wife Dorothea, and their children (Wolfgang, age 17; Helena, age 9; Georg, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adam Drath.
Peter Hoeckel [sic], his wife Dorothea, and children (Wolffgang, age 11; Helena, age 9; Georg, age 3; Johann, born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Lauwe on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.
Wolfgang Heckel is recorded on the 1798 census of Jost in Household No. Jo20.
The 1767 census records that Peter Heckel came from the German village of Laibstadt [?] in the Nürnberg region.
