Christian Jede, his wife Maria, and children (Johann, age 20; Anna, age 10) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Christi. Jede, his wife Dorothea, and children (Joh. Christian, age 20; Anna Dorothe., age 10) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Christian Gede [sic], his wife Dorothea, and children (Christian, age 21; Dorothea, age 18; Gottfried, age 2-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 42. They had settled in Boisroux on 7 June 1767.
In 1769, Christian Jedde moved from Boisroux to Hummel.
Christian Jede and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hummel in Household No. Hm05. Johann Konrad Jede, believed to be the son of Christian Jede, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hummel in Household No. Hm10.
The death of Konrad Jede in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Hummel in Household No. 15.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christian Jede was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a soldier (Soldat) from Zerbst. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Rieben in the region of Dessau.
