Lehning (Schwab)
[Johann] Konrad Lehning, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Margaretha, age 11; Johann, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Concordia under the command of Skipper Jakob Bauert.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Schwab of 8 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8 along with Konrad's new wife Gertrude.
Widow Katharina Elisabeth Lehning from Schwab and her family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenberg.
The 1767 census records that Johann Konrad Lehning came from the German village of Angersbach [?] in the Riedesel region.
