Michaelis (Jost)*
Christian Michaelis, a barber (Knopfmacher), and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Christian Michaelis, a button maker (Knopfmacher), his wife Maria Magdalena, and daughter Maria Magdalena (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Jost in Household No. 46. They had arrived in Jost on 16 August 1767.
In 1790, Johann Christian Michaelis and his daughter moved from Stahl am Tarlyk to Jost. The 1798 census of Dinkel records Christian Michaelis in Household No. Dn06.
The 1767 census records that Christian Michaelis came from the German region of Anhalt-Köthen.
