August Relke, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Dorothea settled in the Volga German colony of Dobrinka on 8 May 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 58 along with their new-born son Carl Gottfried.

The 1798 census of Holstein records Karl Relke in Household No. Ho36.

The death of Karl Relke in 1831 is recorded on the 1834 census of Shcherbakovka in Household No. 79.

Brothers Heinrich, Martin [sic], & Christoph Relke, sons of Karl Relke, and their families are recorded on the 1850 census of Shcherbakovka in Households No. 166 & 167.

Brothers Heinrich, Mattias [sic], & Christoph Relke are recorded on the 1857 census of Shcherbakovka in Households No. 172 & 173 along with a note that Heinrich and his family relocated to the colony of Grimm.

Heinrich Relke from Shcherbakovka and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Grimm in Household No. 352 along with a note that they relocated to the daughter colony of Erlenbach in 1852.

Heinrich Relke from Grimm and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Erlenbach in Household No. 46.

The 1767 census records that August Relke came from the German village of Liewart in the region of Sachsen (Saxony).
