Johann Georg Rohlmann and his wife Anna Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 43.

In 1793, Michael Rohlmann [probable son of Johann Georg Rohlmann] moved from Dietel to Grimm.

Michael Rohlmann from Dietel is recorded with his family on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm041.

The death of Michael Rohlmann in 1830 is recorded on the 1834 census of Grimm in Household No. 117.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Rohlmann came from the German area of Alsace.
