Rothenberger (Hussenbach)
Johann Michael Rothenberger, son of Conrad Rothenberger & Anna Margaretha Lotz, was born 16 October 1726 in Allendorf. Anna Catharina Müller, daughter of Anthonius & Anna Elisabeth Müller, was born 26 December 1727 in Londorf.
This couple had eight children, all born in Londorf: (1) Johannes, born 20 October 1750; (2) Johann Conrad, born 1 August 1752, died 29 October 1752; (3) Anna Elisabeth, born 7 November 1753, died 5 December 1754; (4) Anna Margaretha, born 6 October 1755; (5) Anna Christina, born 17 November 1757; (6) Anna Barbara, born 29 April 1760; (7) Gotthard, born 13 March 1762; and (8) Catharina Elisabeth, born 27 November 1764.
Johann Rothenberger, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Johann, age 17; Anna, age 11; Christina, age 9; Margaretha, age 7; Elisabeth, age 6; Gotthard, age 4) arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 May 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Jacob Janson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach. His children are recorded there on the 1798 census in Households No. Hs033, Hs069, & Hs120.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Rothenberger came from the German region of Darmstadt.
