Schimpf (Dobrinka)
Johann Jakob Schimpf, son of Johann Conrad Schimpf & Anna Schaurer, was born 6 June 1721 in Reichelsheim. He married on 27 June 1743 in Bensheim to Anna Catharina Deichert, daughter of Johann Andreas & Maria Elisabetha Deichert from Zell. She had been born 3 December 1718 in Zell.
The births of 5 children are recorded in the parish register of Reichelsheim: (1) Anna Margaretha, born 6 October 1744, died 1 November 1746; (2) Johann Georg, born 20 October 1747; (3) Maria Catharina, born 10 June 1749, died 1 July 1749; (4) Johann Nicolaus, born 27 August 1750, died 28 November 1751; and (5) Anna Margaretha, born 8 February 1754, died 2 September 1764.
The family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax. They settled in Dobrinka on 20 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 69.
In 1790, Jakob Schimpf and his family moved from Dobrinka to Galka.
Friedrich Schimpf from Dobrinka and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Oberdorf in Household No. 18.
