Stenzel (Hussenbach)
Gottfried Stenzel, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 May 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Jacob Janson.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 15 November 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 34 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Hussenbach in 1768. Gottfried's widow is recorded on the 1798 census of Hussenbach in Household No. Hs092.
Christian Stenzel from Hussenbach and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Ährenfeld.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Gottfried Stenzel came from the German region of Dresden. The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Brandenburg.
