Waleske

Alexander Waljatski [sic], his wife Kunigunda, and children (Sophia, age 17½; Christina, age 15; Margaretha, age 12½; Anna Maria, age 8; Karl, age 4; Friederika, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Frei Gebruder under the command of Skipper Minzberger.

Alexander Walezvi [sic], his wife Cunigunda, and children (Sophia, age 17¼; Christina, age 15; Margretha, age 13; Anna Maria, age 8; Carl, age 6; Friderica, age 3) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughters Anna Maria & Friderica died en route.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Jost on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 70.

In 1788, Karl Waleske moved from Jost to Schilling.

Karl Waleske and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schilling in Household No. Sg049.

Christian Waleske from Schilling and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Konstantinovka.

Widow Kunigunda Waleske is recorded on the 1798 census of Jost in Household No. Jo48.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Alexander Waljatski was a farmer from the German region of Fulda while the 1767 census records that he was a hunter (Jäger) from the German village of Raschau in Poland.
