Müller (Frank-1)*
There are multiple Müller lines in Frank.
Johann Martin Müller was born 19 March 1746 in Bingenheim. His brother Lorenz Müller was born 29 November 1742 in Bingenheim. They were both sons of Johann Eberhard Müller and Elisabeth Catharina Walter.
Martin Müller, a single farmer, and his brother Lorenz arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.
Lorenz appears to have died prior to arrival in Frank.
Limpert (Walter)
Peter Limpert, son of Georg Limpert & Dorothea Müller, married on 13 September 1718 in Gersfeld to Eva Rosina Meier, daughter of Heinrich Meier.
The baptisms of two sons born in the village of Unterhof to Peter Limpert & Eva Rosina Meier are recorded in the parish register of Gersfeld: (1) Johann Kaspar, born 2 October 1725; and (2) Johann Christoph, born 19 April 1728.
Weatherford, Custer Co., Oklahoma
Volga German immigrants settled in Weatherford, Oklahoma.
Karg (Frank)
Johann Georg Karg, his wife Anna Maria and children Johann Nicolaus, and Maria Elisabeth, are believed to be from Rimhorn, near Höchst im Odenwald. The Karg surname is common in Rimhorn, but no matching family could be found in the Rimhorn church records.
The Karg family settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 17.
Heitzenröder (Frank)
Johannes Heitzenröder, son of Georg Heitzenröder and Anna Müller, was born 11 October 1722 in Gersfeld. He married Anna Katharina Heun on 18 Nov 1751.
Johann[es] Heitzenreder, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Elisabeth, age 14; Barbara, age 12; Johann, age 9; Peter, age 7; Peter [again], age 5; Andreas, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of skipper Reders.
Grün(e)wald (Frank)
There are two Grünwald families from Groß-Felda that migrated to the Volga German colonies. Both are descendants of Hartmann Grünewald who was buried on 11 May 1670 in Kestrich.
(1) Johann Kaspar Grünwald, son of Hans Kasper Grünwald & Anna Elisabeth Scharmann, was born 4 February 1723 in Groß-Felda. He married on 12 August 1744 to Anna Katharina Eißfeller, daughter of Johann Conrad Eißfeller & Anna Catharina Dietz. She had been born 17 May 1718 in Groß-Felda.
Erbach im Odenwald, Kr. Odenwald, Hessen
Until 1806, Erbach im Odenwald was part of the Bishopric of Mainz.
Flath (Frank)
Johann Friedrich Flath, son of Philipp Flath & Eva Maria Morasch, was born 4 August 1743 in Mümling-Grumbach, near Höchst im Odenwald where he was baptized on 6 August 1743.
He and his wife Eva Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.
Johann Fried. Flaath [sic] and his wife Cathrina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Cathrina died en route.
