Bender, Landry

American actress Landry Bender, daughter of Trey and Amy Bender, was born 3 August 2000 in Chicago, Illinois.

Her filmography includes The Sitter (2011), Crash & Bernstein (2012-2014), Best Friends Whenever (2015-2016), Fuller House (2017-2020), Looking for Alaska (2019), and The Republic of Sarah (2021).

Both her father (Trey) and grandfather (Gary) are noted sportscasters [see separate entries].

Landry's Volga German ancestors came to Kansas from the colonies of Kratzke and Ährenfeld.

Bender, Gary

American sportscaster Gary Nedrow Bender, son of Herbert Leo Bender & H. Dolores Nedrow, was born 1 September 1940 in Norton, Kansas. He grew up in Ulysses, Kansas and holds degrees from the University of Wichita (now Wichita State University) and the University of Kansas.

He began his career calling games at Hutchinson Community College and the University of Kansas. He went on to Wisconsin where he called games for the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

Gerstner, Adolfo

Adolfo Gerstner, son of José Gerstner & Margarita Kranervitter, was born 28 October 1921 in the town of Diamante in the Argentine province of Entre Ríos and baptized the following day at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Valle María.

Adolfo Gerstner was ordained on 21 April 1947 and elevated to Bishop of the Diocese of Concordia on 24 January 1977. He served until 2 May 1998 at which time he became Bishop emeritus.

Bishop Gerstner died 4 December 2002 in Concordia.

The Volga German ancestors of Bishop Gerstner come from the colony of Mariental.

Boxler, Pedro

Pedro Boxler, son of Juan Boxler & Agueda Wassinger, was born 3 August 1920 in Santa Anita.

He was ordained 6 August 1944 in Paraná.

On 18 June 1967, he was consecrated as Bishop of Gualeguaychú in the cathedral in Concordia. He served in that capacity until his retirement on 5 December 1996.

Bishop emeritus Boxler died 1 January 1998 in Gualeguaychú.

Bishop Boxler's Volga German ancestors come from the colony of Mariental.

Kühn Hergenreder, Aurelio José

Aurelio José Kühn Hergenreder was born 8 December 1938 in Santa María.

Father Kühn Hergenreder joined the Capuchin Franciscan Order and was ordained a priest on 11 August 1963.

He was consecrated on 25 March 2000 as Bishop of Deán Funes and served as Bishop until 21 December 2013.
