Riffling

Martin Ruffling and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Martin Rüffling and his wife Anna Charlotta are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Martin Riffling, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 65.

In 1786, Martin Riffling and his family moved from Nieder-Monjou to Fischer.

Lübert (Boisroux)*

Widow Dorothea Louise Lübert is recorded on the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 93. She had settled there on 3 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Dorothea Louise Lübert came from the German village of Oranienbaum in the Dessau region.

There are no surviving male lines of this Lübert family recorded among the Volga German colonies.

Köhler (Unknown)*

Johann Kaspar Köhler, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and children (Johann, age 9; Christian, age 7; Johann, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Johann Casper Keller [sic], his wife Barbara, and sons (Johann Casper, age 9; Christian, age 7; Johann Jost, age 2) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Johann Jost died en route.

Kohl (Unknown)*

Johann Georg Kohl, a single hunter, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

Johann Georg Kol [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that he died en route.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Georg Kohl came from the German region of Württemberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kohl family among the Volga German colonies.

Wener (Did Not Arrive)*

Egidius Wener, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Frei Gebruder under the command of Skipper Minzberger.

Egidius Wener is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that he died en route.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Egidius Wener came from the German region of Ansbach.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Winkler (Unknown)*

Johann Georg Winckler (age 47), a farmer, his wife Maria Anna Seitz (age 38), and sons (Johann Heinrich, age 11; Johann Nicolaus, age 6; Georg Christoph, age 2) are recorded on a list of colonists dated 23 September 1765 who were gathering in the town of Worms. They had arrived in Worms on 19 September 1765. A note on this list records that the two youngest sons died in Hamburg in route to Russia.
