Schwab (Zürich)*

Katharina Schwab (age 12) is recorded on a list of Beauregard recruits appended to the 1767 census of the Volga German colonies in Household No. 5 along with her stepfather Christoph Wasen. It is assumed that she settled in the Volga German colony of Zürich along with the Wasen family.

The 1767 census does not record from where Katharina Schwab came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schwab family among the Volga German colonies.

Kaiser (Zürich)

Johann Heinrich Kaiser, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughters (Anna Martha, age 11; Sophia, age 3-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Philippsfeld in Household No. 6. They had settled there on 3 August 1767. [A note on the 1767 census records that they relocated to the colony of Zürich in 1768, but the movement tables that accompany the 1767 census record that they moved from Philippsfeld to Zürich in 1769.]

Schröder (Nieder-Monjou)

Johann Schröder, a weaver (Weber), and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 19 along with stepsons Sebastian Keile (age 19) and Nikolaus Bachmann (age 17).

The 1767 census records that Johann Schröder came from the German region of Hessen.

Scharrmann*

Christoph [sic] Scharrmann, a farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Caspar Scharrmann is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Kaspar Scharrmann, a farmer, and his wife Friederika settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 42.

Schäfer (Nieder-Monjou-2)

Johann Schäfer, a miner, his wife Maria, and children (Martin, age 12; Anna, age 9; Maria, age 5, Maria, age 2½; Johann, age ¾) that arrived from Lübek at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Georg Schäfer, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and children (Johann Martin, age 12; Cecilia Anna, age 8) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Mühl (Nieder-Monjou-1)*

Leonhard Mühl, a farmer, and his wife Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Nieder-Monjou on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 84.

The 1767 census records that Leonhard Mühl came from the German village of Willebadessen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Mühl family among the Volga German colonies.

Meier (Nieder-Monjou-2)*

Christoph Meier, his wife Elisabeth, and daughters (Magdalena, age 10¼; Eva, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Gottfried Chr. Meyer, his wife Elisabeth, and daughters (Magdalena, age 10¼; Eva, age 7) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Gottfried Meier, a widowed fabric printer (Stoffdrucker), and his daughters (Maria, age 11; Eva, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 21. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.
