Schwar(t)z (Norka)

Johann Traugott Schwartz married Anna Catharina Trüber on 25 February 1766 in the German village of Wolf. Anna Catharina had been there born on 21 November 1738.

Johann Traugolt Schwartz, a cooper, and his wife Anna Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard the Russian pink Vologda under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Bartenyev.

Dinges (Moor / Norka)

The baptisms of the children of Heinrich Tönges [sic] and Anna Margaretha Rähn [sic] are recorded in the parish register of Niedergründau: (1) Johannes, born 9 October 1735; (2) Johann Heinrich, born 30 March 1744; and (3) Johann Georg, born 12 June 1747, baptized 16 June 1747.

The baptism of the mother Anna Margaretha Rühn [sic], daughter of Johann Conrad Rühn, is recorded on the parish register of Niedermittlau on 10 April 1707.

Schindler (Norka)

The Büdingen marriage register records the marriage of Henrich Schindler from Wolffenhausen near Weilburg & Anna Eliesabetha Becker from Atzbach near Giesen on 15 May 1766.

Heinrich Schindler, a tailor, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the barque named Fortitudo under the command of Skipper John Scott.

Heinrich Schindler and his wife Anna Margaretha are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Nagel (Norka)

Jakob Nagel, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Johann, age 19; Johannes, age 17; Sebastian, age 15) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

Jacob Nagell [sic], his wife Catrina, and children (Johann Melchior, age 20; Johannes, age 18; Sebastian, age 14) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Lehl (Norka)

Widower Friedrich Lehl and his children (Sibilla, age 19; Conrad, age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

Fridrich Löhl and his children (Sibilla, age 22; Conrad, age 20) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 186.

Burbach (Norka)

Johann Heinrich Burbach, son of Johann Georg Burbach & Susanna Verneuler, was born in Obersotzbach and baptized on 14 May 1722 in the nearby parish church located in Unterreichenbach.

Johann Heinrich married Anna Justina and the baptisms of at least three children (each born in Obersotzbach) are recorded in the parish register of Unterreichenbach: (1) Melchior, baptized on 17 December 1747; (2) Johann Heinrich, baptized 23 August 1753; and (3) Lorenz, baptized 30 September 1756.

Urbach (Urbach)

Johann Jakob Urbach and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius with skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen at the helm.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767.  They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 1 as the colony's mayor (Vorsteher). The colony was named after him.

In 1786, Christian Urbach and his family moved from Urbach to Stahl am Karaman.

The 1767 census records that the Urbach family came from the German village of Mühlhausen.

Urbach (Norka)

Ernst Wilhelm Urbach, son of Carl & Anna Catharina Urbach, was baptized in Büdingen on 9 November 1732. He married there on 18 July 1754 to Catharina Elisabetha Ropplebein(?), daughter of Wolff Heinrich Ropplebein(?). They had four children who were baptized in Büdingen: (1) Maximilian, 11 November 1754; (2) Willhelmina, 23 October 1757; (3) Johann Philipp, 21 March 1762; and (4) Johanna Magdalena, 25 August 1765.
