Weber, Jakob

Jakob Weber, son of Jakob Weber, was born on 7 August 1870 in Balzer. He began to draw very early in life. In 1892, he moved to Saratov, where he became acquainted with famous Saratov painters such as V. Borisov-Musatov, and V. Konovalov.

Wasinger, Johannes

Father Johannes Wasinger was born 8 December 1870 in the Volga German colony of Graf and died 19 February 1901 in Graf.

He studied theology at the Roman Catholic Seminary in Saratov and was ordained on 20 March 1894.

He served the parish of Liebental from 2 May 1894 to 1895. From 27 June 1895 to 11 July 1898, he served as the administrator of the Katharinental Parish. From 1898-1901 he was served simultaneously the parishes in Zug and Rohleder.

Wanner, Joseph

Father Wanner was born 1845 in Landau, and died 8 January 1898 in Preuss.

He was ordained 15 April 1867. From 8 August 1867 to 8 September 1871, he served the parish of Brabander. He served the parishes of Josefstal and Mariental from 14 October 1871 to 2 July 1895. He served the parish of Preuss from 12 June 1896 to 1898.

Walker, Richard Heinrich

The Rev. Richard Heinrich Walker, son of teacher Karl Eduard Walker & Rosalia Serafina Adelheid Geist, was born on 28 July 1836 in Dorpat (Estonia). He died in Kazan in 1903.

He studied theology at the University of Dorpat and was ordained on 14 April 1863.

He served the following parishes:

Stephan (1875-1879)
Kazan (1880-1903)
Kamsk-Ishevsk (1886-1903)

Wahlberg, Karl Friedrich

Karl Friedrich Wahlberg was born 29 December 1791 in Luumäki, Finland, son of Pastor Christian Adolf Wahlberg and Sara Katharina Backman. He died 5 December 1882 in Katharinenstadt. In 1824, he married Anna Dorothea Elisabeth Buck, daughter of Pastor Johann Heinrich Buck and Elisabeth Müller, in Rosenheim. She was born 15 August 1809 in Katharinenstadt and died in 1878 in Katharinenstadt.

Wahlberg, Karl Erich

The Rev. Karl Erich Wahlberg, son of Pastor Karl Friedrich Wahlberg & Anna Dorothea Elisabeth Buck, was born on 17 June 1825 in Katharinenstadt.

He studied theology at the Alexander University (now the University of Helsinki) in Finland.

He was ordained on 18 June 1861 and served the congregations in Katharinenstadt (1861-1862) and Gnadenflur (1872-1888).

He resigned in 1888 due to ill health and died later that year on 21 August 1888.  He is buried in Gnadenflur.

Wagner, Woldemar

The Rev. Woldemar Wagner, son of Gottlieb Wagner, was born in 1898 [in Dietel according to some sources, in Vladikavkaz according to others]. He studied theology at the seminary in Leningrad and was ordained in 1929. He served the congregation in Dietel (1929-1931).  He was arrested in Saratov on 23 August 1931 for counter-revolutionary nationalist activities, but the charges were dismissed. He then served as the last pastor of St. Catherine Lutheran Church in Leningrad (formerly St. Petersburg) from 1931-1935.

Wagner, Christfried

The Rev. Christfried Wagner from St. Petersburg was born in 1897 (in Moscow according to some sources, in Chudovo in the Novgorod Province according to others).

He studied theology at the seminary in Leningrad (St. Petersburg). Worked in several parishes in the Leningrad region. He was ordained in 1926, and served in St. Mary's Lutheran Church in Saratov beginning in 1926.

Wacker, Friedrich Alexander

The Rev. Friedrich Alexander Wacker was born in Kamyshin on 8 April 1886, the son of Volga German colonist Georg W. Wacker and Dorothea Reisich.

From 1909-1912, he was a theology student at the seminary in Dorpat, Estonia. He was ordained on 3 November 1913 and served the Norka parish from then until 1925. He became dean of the parishes of the Bergseite colonies and theological director of the pastor’s seminary in Leningrad.

In 1930, he was exiled to Martyskino, near Oranienbaum until 1934 and not permitted to serve as a pastor during that time.

Moos, Hartmann von

Hartmann von Moos was born 11 April 1737 in Trimmis in the Graubünden Kanton of Switzerland. He is the son of Leonhardt von Moos (also a pastor) and Margaretha Bernhard. He died 15 May 1803 in Katharinenstadt.
