Dechant (Ober-Monjou)
Johannes Dechant, a cabinet maker (Tischler), and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.
Johannes Dechant, his wife Anna, and daughter Anna Maria (age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. 64. They had settled in Ober-Monjou on 23 July 1767.
The widow and children of Johannes Dechant are recorded on the 1798 census of Ober-Monjou in Household No. Om68.
In 1788, Johann Georg Dechant moved from Ober-Monjou to Wittmann.
Georg Dechant from Ober-Monjou and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Wittmann in Household No. Wm33.
