Lipps (Messer)
Wilhelm Lipps, son of Wilhelm Lipps from Calbach, and his wife Elisabetha were married on 22 November 1764 in Mittel-Gründau. Wilhelm and Elisabetha had one child, Johannes, born 2 August 1765.
The family immigrated to Russia, arriving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of skipper Thomas Fairfax on 4 July 1766. They arrived in the Volga German colony of Messer on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 68.
Wilhelm Lipps and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Messer in Household No. Ms08.
In 1798, Friedrich Lipps, presumed son of Wilhelm Lipps, moved from Messer to Kautz.
Friedrich Lipps and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Kautz in Household No. Kz26.
Friedrich Lipps is recorded on the 1811 census of Kautz in Household No. 26 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Merkel in 1806.
