Widow Anna Margaretha Schäfer and her children (Nikolaus, age 16; Barbara, age 13; Peter, age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Louis in Household No. 2 along with her new husband Mattias Kumpallo. They had settled in Louis on 14 June 1766.

In 1788, Nikolaus Schäfer and his family moved from Louis to Graf.

Nikolaus Schäfer from Louis and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Graf in Household No. Gf31.

In 1860, brothers Peter Schäfer (born 1825) and Johannes Schäfer (born 1832), sons of Peter Schäfer (born 1796), and their families moved from Graf to Liebental.

Peter Schäfer (born 1825) and Johannes Schäfer (born 1832) and their families are recorded on the 1861 census of Liebental in Household No. 8.

In 1860, another Peter Schäfer (born 1826) and his family moved from Graf to Liebental.

Peter Schäfer, brother of Nikolaus must also have moved to Graf, because in 1796, Peter Schäfer and his family are recorded as returning from Graf to Louis.

The death of Peter Schäfer in 1837 is recorded on the 1850 census of Louis in Household No. 61.

In 1859, Johannes Schäfer, son of Peter Schäfer (died 1837), and his family moved from Louis to Liebental. They are recorded on the 1861 census of Liebental in Household No. 98.

The 1767 census records that Anna Margaretha came from the German village of Meisenheim in the region of Zweibrücken.
