Jacob Balthasar Schwartzkopf, son of Johann Jacob Schwartzkopf & Maria Agatha Mögess, was born in Pfaffenhofen, Württemberg, on 19 December 1721. He married there on 25 May 1745 to Maria Salomae Wössner, daughter of Johann Michael Wössner & Maria Salomae Schurer. She was born 9 September 1720, also in Pfaffenhofen. They had a number of children in Pfaffenhofen before immigrating to Schleswig-Holstein (Denmark).
Balthasar Schwarzkopf (age 41), his wife Salome (age 42), and children (Sophia Agatha, age 16; Lüdewig, age 12; Maria Sabina, age 10 Johann Adam, age 4) arrived in Fensburg on 12 June 1762 and swore their allegiance to King Friedrich of Denmark on 19 July 1762. The death of Hans Georg Schwarzkopf (age 15 weeks), son of Balthas[ar] Schwarzkopf, is recorded in the Danish parish register of Sterup on 15 September 1762.
They settled in Flensburg on 5 August 1763.
They left there on 14 August 1765 and immigrated to Russia, arriving in the colony of Dönhof on 21 July 1766. They are recorded there in Household No. 41 on the 1767 Census.
Johannes Schwartzkopf from Dönhof and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Franzosen in Household No. 50.
There are several Schwartzkopf families from Dönhof in Neu-Bauer after 1858.
