Wegele
Georg Ludwig Wegel [sic], a carpenter (Zimmermann), his wife Katharina, and their children (Anna Barbara, age 3½, Jakob, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adam Drath.
Ludewig Wegerle and his daughter Anna Barbara (age 3) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Lauwe on 5 September 1767. Ludwig Wechlein [sic] and daughter Barbara are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31 along with his new wife, Margaretha.
Ludwig Wegele is recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb43.
The 1767 census records that Ludwig Wechlein [sic] came from the German village of Willmandingen in the region of Württemberg.
