Vogelbach

Jacob Vogelbach from Waldshut in the Schwarzwald & Dorothea Brede from Weckesheim were married on 16 April 1766 in the City Lutheran Church of Friedberg.

Jakob Vogelbach, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughter Dorothea (age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Der Jäger under the command of Skipper Gabriel Will.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 15 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.

Trietler*

Johann Wendel Treitler, a farmer, and his wife Gertrude arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 38.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Wendel Trietler came from the German village of Ottendorf in Böhmen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Treitler family among the Volga German colonies.

Breitinger*

Johann Peter Breitinger, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Semenovka on 24 July 1767 and Peter is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29 along with his new wife and her son.

Peter Breitinger and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Semenovka in Household No. Se10.

Schmal(t)z

Joseph Schmalz and his wife Anna Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Semenovka on 24 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12 along with new-born son Nikolaus.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Joseph Schmalz was a watchmaker while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

Muntz (Sewald)

Jakob Muntz, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Pavel (St. Paul) under the command of the Lieutenant Fyedor Sornev.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Sewald on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12.

In 1792, Jakob Muntz and his family moved from Sewald to Hölzel.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Muntz was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a weaver (Weber).
