Walter (Stahl am Tarlyk)

Gottfried Walter, his sister, his mother, and his stepfather Christian Richter arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.

Walter (Seelmann)

Andreas Walter, a tailor, his wife Anna, and daughter Anna (age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Der Jäger under the command of Skipper Gabriel Will.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 15 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4 along with his new wife and her son, Anton Mensing.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Walter was a farmer from the German village of Kelesheim in the Kurmainz region.

Walter (Mariental)*

Ksaweriy (?) Walter, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 16 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8.

The 1767 census records that Ksaweriy Walter came from the German area of Blasien.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Walter family among the Volga German colonies.

Walter (Keller)

Johann Walter, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Adam, age not recorded; Maria [Katharina], age 22; [Maria] Eva, age 19; Maria, age 16; Gottfried, age 13; Anna, age 10½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.

Wambold(t)

Jakob Wambold, a farmer from Darmstadt, and his wife Charlotta arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat named Saratov under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel on 1 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Wambold came from the German village of Ziegenberg in the Darmstadt region.

Wandermuth

Johann Wandermuth, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 31.

The 1798 census of Mariental (Household No. Mt21) records that he had been living in Herzog.

The 1767 census records that Johann Wandermuth came from the German region of Runzen.

Weber (Mariental)

Peter Weber, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 16 June 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28 along with his new wife Maria Gertrude who came from the German village of Geseke near Köln.

The 1767 census records that Peter Weber came from the German region of Hessen-Kassel.

Weber (Kukkus)

Jakob Weber, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Johann, age 9; Peter, age 7; Katharina, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

Jacob Weber, his wife Catarina, and children (Johann Georg, age 10; Johann Peter, age 9; Catarina Elisabeth, age 3) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that mother Catarina died en route.
