Sieber

Jakob Siebert [sic], a teacher, his wife Maria Katharina, and children (Susanna, age 18; Louisa, age 12; Johann, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Heidemann.

Jakob Siebert [sic], a farmer, his wife Maria Katharina, and children (Anna Susanna, age 18; Sophia Louisa, age 10; Johann Heinrich, age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Bangert in Household No. 25. They had settled in Bangert on 1 July 1767.

Siebert (Köhler-1)

Adam Siebert, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Anna Christina, age 7; Johann Martin, age 1-month) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.

Adam Siebert and his daughter Anna Christina (age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 75 along with his new wife Klara Eberle. They had settled in Köhler on 21 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Adam Siebert came from the German village of Alt Simmern in the region of Baden.

Heiss (Köhler)

Michael Heiss [recorded as Geist], a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the pink Lev under the command of Lieutenant Fyodor Fyodorov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 10 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9 [under the surname Heiss].

Gottlieb Heiss and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Köhler in Household No. 165 along with a note that they relocated to the daughter colony of Josefstal in 1852.

Geist (Pfeifer)

Adam Geist, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the Command of Lieutenant Perepechin.

Adam Geist, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 98 [under the surname Heiss]. They had arrived in Pfeifer on 20 August 1767.

Knopf (Frank)

Kaspar Knopf, a farmer, and his family arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboad the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767 and they are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8.

Zimmer (Frank / Yagodnaya Polyana)*

Johannes Zimmer, a widower from Wallernhausen, & Anna Maria Erck, daughter of Christoph Erck from Nidda, were married on 26 June 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

They evidently didn't make it to Russia, but two of his children are recorded among the Volga German colonies with members of the Erck family:

(1) Anna Margaretha Zimmer (age 13) is recorded on the 1767 census of Yagodnaya Polyana in Household No. 77 along with the Konrad Bähr family. Konrad Bähr's wife is Anna Katharina Erck.

Söll (Frank)

The marriage register of St. Jacob's Lutheran Church in Lübeck records that "Joseph Söll, vintner (Weinkrüger) from the area of Ullm, & Maria Sophia Stürtzer née Strömer, a widow from Brandenburg, married 7 August 1766 in Pastor Möllraht’s house in Lübeck."

This is the same Joseph Söll and his wife Maria who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Wachsamkeit under the command of Skipper Jacob Heinrich Sager.

Zeiler (Frank)

Andreas Zeiler, a farmer, and his wife Klara Elisabeth [née Illingen] settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 33.

Andreas Zeiler and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk047.

The death of Andreas Zeiler in 1808 is recorded on the 1811 census of Frank in Household No. 47.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Zeiler came from the German village of Marklieker in the region of Nürnberg.
