Gose

Thomas Gose, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Thomas Hose [sic] and his wife Maria Elisabetha are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Hilgenberg

Johann Hildenberg [sic], a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Merhardt

Johann Heinrich Merhardt, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Joh. Heinr. Mergard [sic], his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Catharina (age 1½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Maria Catharina died en route.

Aschenbrenner (Philippsfeld)

Lorenz Aschenbrenner, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Lorentz Eschenbrenner [sic], his wife Elisabeth, and sons (Anton, age 5¼; Jost Burchhard, age ½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Anton died en route.

Bruns / Brun(t)z

Wilhelm Christoph Bruns, a gardener (Gärtner), and his wife Dorothea Louisa settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

The 1767 census records that Wilhelm Christoph Bruns came from the German village of Liograd near Hamburg.

Fortner

Aegedius Fortner, a locksmith (Schlosser), and his wife Anna Dorothea settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 46.

In 1790, Aegedius Fortner who was Catholic and his family moved to Leichtling, a Catholic colony.

The 1767 census records that Aegidius Fortner came from Vienna, Austria.

Specht (Merkel)

Johann Daniel Specht, a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Rosina settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.

Daniel Specht and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr13.

The death of Daniel Specht in 1816 is recorded on the 1834 census of Merkel in Household No. 8.

Johann Daniel Specht from Merkel and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Friedenfeld.

Briegemann / Brückmann (Merkel-2)

Hermann Brückmann, a weaver (Weber), his wife Anna Margaretha, and son Johann Gottlieb (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Merkel in Household No. 7. They had settled there on 28 August 1766.

Egidius (Gottlieb) Briegemann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr14.

The death of Egidius Briegemann in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Merkel in Household No. 82 along with a note that his surviving son, Johann Jakob Briegemann, relocated to Franzosen in 1828.

Briegemann / Brückmann (Merkel-1)

David Franz Brückmann, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), his wife Maria Magdalena, and sons (Otto Heinrich, age 5; Johann Heinrich, age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Merkel in Household No 22. They had settled there on 28 August 1766.

David Briegemann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr03.

In 1849, Georg Jakob Briegemann, son of Otto Heinrich Briegemann, moved from Merkel to Dobrinka.

The 1767 census records that David Franz Brückmann came from the German village of Alteno.
