Krieger (Merkel-2)

Johann Friedrich Krieger, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.

Friedrich Krieger and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr21.

Johannes Krieger from Merkel is recorded on the 1834 census of Franzosen in Household No. 104.

The 1767 census records that Johann Friedrich Krieger came from the German village of Templin in Preußen (Prussia).

Christoph Krieger, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.

The 1767 census records that Christopher Krieger came from Berlin in Preußen (Prussia).

Lampe (Merkel)*

Johann Kaspar Lampe, a chimney sweeper (Schornsteinfeger), settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.

The 1767 census records that Johann Kaspar Lampe came from Hamburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Lampe family among the Volga German colonies.

Lohmann (Merkel)

Johann Lohmann, a weaver (Weber), and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 18.

The 1767 census records that Johann Lohmann came from Brandenburg.

Neumann (Merkel)

Johann Heinrich Neumann, a cobbler (Schuhmacher), and his wife Katharina Magdalena settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.

The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Neumann came from the German village of Lysanderhausen in Sachsen (Saxony).

There are no known surviving male descendants of this Neumann family among the Volga German colonies.

Olofsen*

Andreas Olofsen, a farmer, and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 26.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Olofsen came from Finland.

There are no known male descendants of the Olofsen family among the Volga German colonies.

Walter (Merkel)*

Friedrich Ludwig Walter, a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Anna Dorothea settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

The 1767 census records that Friedrich Ludwig Walter came from the German village of Lütjenburg in Holstein.

There are no known surviving male descendants of this Walter family among the Volga German colonies.

Zeiser (Merkel)*

Battise Zeiser, a farmer, and his wife Anna Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 25.
