Gergins / Hergins

Johann Jacob Jürgens, a farmer, and Maria Elisabeth Köhn married on 30 April 1765 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Johann Jakob Gergins, a farmer from Lübeck, and his wife Maria Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Bauer on 20 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.

In 1789, Jakob Gergins and his family are moved from Merkel to Kratzke.

Jakob Gergins from Merkel and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kratzke in Household No. Kr12.

Blehm (Shcherbakovka)

Nikolaus Plöhn, son of Jürgen Plöhn & Catharina Kruse, was born in 1705. He married 11 October 1737 to Adelheit Margaretha Wulf (born 1718; died 20 February 1760). He remarried to Catharina Maria Augustin (born 1728; died 22 January 1806). Nikolaus Plöhn died 15 December 1782.

Hans Jürgen Plöhn, son of Nikolaus Plöhn & Adelheid Wulf, was born 26 March 1744 in Groß Rheide.

Wegelin

Ludwig Wegelin, a weaver, and his wife Anna Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.

Ludwig Wegelin and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Merkel in Household No. Mr09 along with a note that he is living in Kratzke where he is serving as the schoolteacher.

[Johann] Jakob Wegelin, son of Ludwig Wegelin, and his family are recorded on the 1811 census of Dietel in Household No. 6 along with a note that they had arrived in Dietel from Merkel in 1799.

Schneider (Huck-3)

There are two Schneider settlers in the Volga German colony of Huck who may be related to each other:

(1) Johann Heinrich Schneider, a farmer from Isenburg, and his wife Anna Elisabeth settled in Huck on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 46.

Schneider (Huck-2)

Konrad Schneider, a farmer from the district of Isenburg, and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 1 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22 and on the 1798 census in Household No. Hk37.

There are two Konrad Schneiders who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg along with many other families that settled in Huck. They are recorded on the Oranienbaum passenger list under documents #3212 & #3225.

Schneider (Huck-1)

Philipp Schneider, a farmer from the Kurpfalz, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Huck on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 75.

In 1788, Johann Adam Schneider moved from Huck to Rothammel. This same Johann Adam Schneider and his family are recorded in 1790, moving from Huck to Kratzke.

Schmidt (Warenburg-1)

Jakob Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Maria, and children (Elisabeth, age 22; Katharina, age 20; Andreas, age 18; Jakob, age 12; Anna, age 8; Katharina Elisabeth, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.

Jakob Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Maria Magdalena, and children (Andreas, age 18; Jakob, age 13; Anna Dorothea, age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Warenburg in Household No. 52. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.

Schäfer (Messer)

Johannes Schäfer, son of Hans Georg & Maria Magdalena Schäfer, was born 28 February 1696 in Michelbach. He married on 11 January 1724 Fränkisch-Crumbach to Anna Margaretha Flath, daughter of Friedrich Flath & Anna Eva Heusel. She had been born 26 May 1696 in Mümling-Grumbach. [Johannes Schäfer died 28 June 1772 and Anna Margaretha Flath Schäfer died 23 December 1762, both in Michelbach.]

Petri (Merkel)

Conrad Kern & Maria Amalia Peter [Petri] (both widowed) were married 29 July 1766 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Konrad Kern, a farmer, his wife Amalia, and children (Johann [Georg], age 17; Martin, age 13; Michael [Petri], age 13; Maria, age 11; Philipp [Petri], age 10) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.
