Stahlmann (Laub)

Friedrich Stahlmann, a boilermaker (Kesselschmied), his wife Maria, and daughter Margaretha Sophia (age 4-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 36. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.

Dietrich [sic] Stahlmann and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb44.

The 1767 census of Laub records that Friedrich Stahlmann came from the German region of Darmstadt.

Kohl (Laub)

Johann Kohl, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Friedrich, age 10; Valentin, age 5-days) are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 55 along with his wife's sister Katharina Magdalena [surname not recorded] (age 16).

Friedrich Kohl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb51.

Valentin Kohl, son of Friedrich Kohl, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb32.

Pflug (Straub)*

In 1792, widower Philipp Pflug "ran away" from Straub.

Katharina Dorothea Pflug (age 6) is recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb64 along with a note that she is being raised by her grandfather in Warenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Pflug family among the Volga German colonies.

Sommer (Laub)

Georg Sommer, his wife Catharina, and daughter Johanna Dorothea (age 6) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Georg Sommer, a farmer, and his wife Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 51. They had settled there on 15 September 1767.

Georg Sommer and his descendants are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Households No. Lb40 & Lb59.

Rothgang (Laub)*

Johann Peter Rothgang, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and children (Johann Heinrich, age 14; Anna Maria, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 4. They had settled there on 12 July 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Peter Rothgang came from the German village of Ober-Ramstadt in the Darmstadt region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Rothgang family among the Volga German colonies.

Mühl (Laub)

Christian Mühl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb50.

Christian's sons are recorded on the 1834 census of Laub in Households No. 29 & 96.

Laas (Laub)

Christian Laas, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and son Johann Jakob (age 4-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 37. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.

Johann Jakob, son of Christian Laas, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Laub in Household No. Lb14.

The death of Jakob Laas in 1799 is recorded on the 1811 census of Laub in Household No. 14.

Descendants of Johann Jakob Laas are recorded on the 1834 census of Laub in Household No. 97.

Ludwig (Laub)*

Johann Ludwig, a baker (Bäcker), and his wife Anna are recorded on the 1767 census of Laub in Household No. 40. They had settled there on 5 September 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Ludwig came from the German village of Saryhausen [?] in the Württemberg region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Ludwig family among the Volga German colonies.
