Volhard

Two Volhard families arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of skipper Thomas Fairfax. They also traveled together from St. Petersburg to Saratov. The relationship of these two families to each other is not recorded, but they are assumed to be father and son.

(1) Nikolaus Volhard, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Elisabeth, age 20; Anna, age 17; Johann, age 7) arrived in Oranienbaum.

Schweitzer (Kind)

Michael Schweitzer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 11; Johann, age 8; Johann [again], age 6; Valentin, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.

Michael Schweitzer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 10; Johann Georg, age 8; Johann Jacob, age 6; Valentin, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Anna died en route.

Kraus (Kind)*

Johannes Kraus and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Kind in Household No. Kd16.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kraus family among the Volga German colonies.

Egler

Andreas Egeler [sic], a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johann, age 9; Anna, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Andreas Egeler [sic], his wife Anna, and children (Johannes, age 9; Maria, age 6) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from Oranienbaum to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both parents died in route.

Dietrich (Kind)

Johann Dietrich, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Jacob Dittrich and his wife Anna Elisabeth are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Bender (Kind)

Philipp Bender, a farmer, and his wife Anna [Elisabeth] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Philip Bender and his wife Elisabetha are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that wife Elisabetha died en route.

Philipp Bender, a farmer, and his [new] wife Elisabeth are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 30.
