Weimann (Kamenka)

Franz Weimann, a single farmer, settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 10 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 26 along with a note that he is working as a day laborer (Lohnarbeiter) and relocated to the colony of Kamenka in 1768.

Franz Weimann from Köhler is recorded on the 1798 census of Kamenka in Household No. Km005.

The 1767 census records that Franz Weimann came from the Polish village of Posen.

Weisheim (Köhler)

Hieronÿmus Weisheim from Rimbach in the area of Cölln [sic] & Anna Margaretha Götz from Lieblos were married on 26 May 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Eremeus Weisheim, a gardner (Gärtner), and his wife Anna Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 21 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 90.

Their daughter Sophia is recorded on the 1798 census of Köhler in Household No. Kl02 along with her brother Zacharias.

Brautigam (Kolb)

Johann Bräutigam & Anna Maria Krieger were married on 30 April 1766 in Roßlau.

Johann Gottlieb Brautigam, son of the deceased Johann Brautigam, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko20.

Schu(h)macher (Pobochnaya)*

Johann Kaspar Schuhmacher, his wife Anna Elisabeth Schukart, and daughter (Anna Elisabeth, age 6-months) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 July 1772 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hartwig.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Pobochnaya on 4 July 1773. They are recorded on a 1773 list of Pobochnaya settlers (No. 9).

Georg Schuhmacher is recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko44. It is believed that he is a descendant of this Schuhmacher family.

Schneider (Pobochnaya-1)

There are several Schneider families that arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 July 1772 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Hartwig. They settled in the Volga German colony of Pobochnaya on 4 July 1773.

Three of these Schneider families came from the German village of Niedermittlau. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

Rosenow

Friedrich Rosenow and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko38.

In 1794, Karl Rosenow moved from Kolb to Hussenbach.

Karl and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hussenbach in Household No. Hs010.

Meier (Kolb)

Georg [Meier] (age 11) and his brother Wilhelm (age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kolb in Household No. 13 along with their mother Barbara and stepfather Konrad Keim. They had arrived in Kolb on 13 May 1767.

Georg Meier and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko01.

The 1767 census does not record from where Georg & Wilhelm Meier came.

Luders (Kolb)*

Anna Maria Luders, daughter of the deceased Johannes Luders, is recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko36.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Koch (Kolb)

Three Kochs arrived together from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm. They are believed to be siblings.

(1) Adam Koch, a single miller. Johann Adam Koch and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kolb in Household No. Ko23.

The death of Adam Koch in 1825 is recorded on the 1834 census of Kolb in Household No. 11.
