Neuhaus*

Johannes Neuhaus (age 17) and his brother Christian (age 13) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 59 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Bettinger in 1768. They are also recorded on the 1767 census as the stepsons of widower Peter Bruckmann.

Christian Neuhaus from Biberstein is recorded on the 1798 census of Bettinger in Household No. Bt11.

The death of Christian Neuhaus in 1821 is recorded on the 1834 census of Bettinger in Household No. 53.

Schmidt (Biberstein-3)

Georg Paulus Schmidt & Cungunda Koller were married on 19 June 1766 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck. It is believed that this is the same Paul Schmidt who is later recorded in the colony of Biberstein.

Paulus Schmid and his wife Cunigunda arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard an English frigate under the command of Skipper Adam Beerfeier.

Paul Schmidt, a single baker (Bäcker), is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 130.

Schmidt (Biberstein-1)

Gottlieb Schmidt, a single hunter (Jäger), is recorded on a listing of Beauregard recruits (No. 156) attached to the 1767 census along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Biberstein in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Gottlieb Schmidt came from the German village of Schieritz.

Schönebeck (Biberstein)

Peter Schönebeck, a weaver (Weber), and his wife Engel are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 3 along with a note that they relocated to the village of Biberstein in 1768.

Also recorded with them on the 1767 census is the orphan Anna Katharina Heider (age 12). A relationship between the Schönebeck and Heider family is not recorded.

The 1767 census records that Peter Schönebeck came from the German village of Nasnitz [?].

Semmler*

[Anna] Veronica Semmler, widow of an unnamed farmer, and her children (Anna [Margaretha], age 16; Johann [Kaspar], age 16; Heinrich; age 11) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.

Widow Veronica Semler and her children (Anna, age 18; Johann, age 16¼; Heinrich, age 11) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Spahnagel

Johann Spahnagel, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild.

Johann Spahnagel, a single farmer, is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 135.

Johann Spahnagel from Biberstein is recorded on the 1798 census of Boisroux in Household No. Bx34.

In 1793, Gottlieb Spahnagel moved from Boisroux to Urbach. Gottlieb Spahnagel from Boisroux and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Urbach in Household No. Ur11.
