Heinrich (Kukkus-2)*

Johann Georg Heinrich was born 31 January 1729, in Werdorf. He was baptized there on 8 February 1729, and confirmed in 1743. He was the third oldest of four children of Hans Caspar Heinrich (born 30 November 1681 in Werdorf) and Anna Christina Zimmerman (born 23 May 1698 in Werdorf).

Heimbüchner

Johannes Michael Hainbüchner, son of Lorenz Hainbüchner & Anna Margaretha Kißner, was born 5 May 1741 in Neustadt, a small German village northeast of Höchst im Odenwald. He married in the neighboring village of Sandbach on 21 April 1765 to Anna Margaretha Hegeny, daughter of Johann Georg Hägni & Anna Maria Hamann. She had been born in Neustadt on 13 August 1739. The couple had one daughter, Elisabetha Catharina (born 11 January 1766), who died before they left for Russia.

Hassenpflug*

Johann Heinrich Hassenpflug & Anna Regina Schmidt of Altenschlirf were married in Büdingen on 29 May 1766. From the way it is recorded, it is unclear whether it is only Anna Regina or both of them who are from Altenschlirf, south of Lauterbach. She was born about 1747.

They immigrated to Russia, but Johann Heinrich evidently died before reaching the Volga German colonies. Anna Regina arrived in Norka on 15 August 1767, and is recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 144 as a widow.

Hartung (Frank)

Johann Philipp Hartung, son of Johann Christoff Hartung & Anna Eleonora Dönges, was baptized 23 April 1732 in Büdingen.

Philipp Hartung left for Russia in 1766 as a single man, and arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port in Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

Philipp settled in the Volga German colony of Frank and is recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 13.

Hartmann (Ernestinendorf)

Peter Hartmann was born about 1743 in Staden, today part of the Wetteraukreis. He married Anna Catharina Braun of nearby Beienheim on 1 March 1762 in Fauerbach, east southeast of Nidda.

Peter Hartmann, a farmer, and his wife Anna from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 on a vessel under the command of Nicolau Peter Pink.

Peter Harttmann [sic] and his wife Anna are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Harres (Schilling)

Johann Nicolaus Harres, son of Johann Georg Harres & Eva Vetter, was born in Knoden (today a part of Lautertal) on 7 February 1714 and baptized in the Evangelical Church of Reichenbach (today also a part of Lautertal) on 11 February 1714. He married Anna Margaretha Rutz, daughter of Valentin Rutz, on 18 January 1735 in the same church.

Hamm (Hahnsau / Köppental)

Michael Hamm, son of Michael Hamm (1758-1831) & Helena Esau (1759-1834), was born 25 April 1790 in Orloff, Gross Werder, part of the Ladekopp Mennonite Congregation in West Prussia. [Today Ladekopp is located in Poland and is known as Lubieszewo.] He married 25 October 1821 to Helena Klaassen, daughter of Dirk Klaassen (1765-1843) & Anna Penner (1769-1824). She was born 7 June 1798 in Fürstenwerder, Gross Werder, Prussia.

Homburg

Johann Dietrich Homburg from Calden in Hessen married in Gelnhaar on 25 February 1740 to Maria Catharina Rohm, daughter of Johann Caspar Rohm.

Hall (Anton)*

Konrad Hall was born on 22 August 1730 in Zwingenberg, south of Darmstadt.

He immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) where he married Eva Katharina Heckmann in Altona on 27 April 1760. She had been born on 10 January 1728 in Schollbrunn.

In 1763, they immigrated to Russia, settling in the colony of Anton on 6 October 1764.

Konard Hall, his wife Eva Katharina, and daughter Anna Christina (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Anton in Household No. 37.

Konrad Hall and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Anton in Household No. An38.

Hahn (Basel)

Johann Melchior Hahn (born 7 October 1713) married on 17 November 1740 to Anna Elisabeth Göbel (born 16 February 1715). They have 5 known children, all baptized in the Lutheran Church in Oppenrod, a very small village just east of Giessen: (1) Johann Philipp, baptized 30 September 1742; (2) Thilmann, baptized 18 February 1744; (3) Johann Jacob, baptized 8 May 1746; (4) Anna Elisabeth, baptized 14 January 1748; and (5) Johann Melchior, baptized 12 October 1749.
