Asmus (Holstein)
Friedrich Asmus, a farmer, immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) in 1762.
He joined the migration to Russia and settled in the Volga German colony of Holstein on 24 June 1765. Friedrich Asmus, a farmer, his wife Anna Margaretha, and daughter Margaretha (age 2) are recorded on the 1767 census of Holstein in Household No. 16 along a note that they relocated to the colony of Dobrinka in 1768.
In 1788, Friedrich Asmus and his family moved from Holstein to Grimm.
Johann Wilhelm Asmus, Georg Konrad Asmus, and their families from Grimm are recorded on the 1857 census of Oberdorf in Households No. 56 & 64.
Johann Philipp Asmus from Grimm and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Erlenbach in Household No. 52.
The Eichhorn research records that Friedrich Asmus "probably" came from the German village of Moorsee bei Kiel in the Holstein region. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Digouste.
