Haas (Chasselois)
Jakob Haas, a single farmer (age 19), and his sister Katharina (age 15) settled in the Volga German colony of Chasselois on 2 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 26 along with a note that their unnamed mother had died after immigrating to Russia.
Following the destruction of Chasselois, the surviving members of this Haas family relocated to the colony of Graf.
Jakob Haas from Chasselois and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Graf in Household No. Gf08.
Johann Georg Haas, stepson of Georg Peter Heile, is recorded on the 1798 census of Graf in Household No. Gf15.
This Johann Georg Haas is believed to be the Georg Haas recorded with his family on the 1834 census of Wittmann in Household No. 31.
In 1795, Johannes Haas moved from Graf to Mariental.
Johann[es] Haas from Graf is recorded on the 1798 census of Mariental in Household No. Mt27.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Haas came from the German village of Seret in the Lothringen region of France.
