Weiland (Warenburg)*

Philipp Heinrich Weiland, a farmer, his wife Anna Barbara, and children (Maria Elisabeth, age 12; Georg Martin, age 7; Johann Philipp, age 4; Maria Katharina, age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 June 1766 aboard the ship named Die Neue Fortuna under the command of Skipper Ahrens Steingraber.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.

Weis(s) (Orlovskaya-2)

Christian Weiss, a laborer (Fabrikarbeiter), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Christian Weyse [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Orlovskaya on 7 June 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 84.

In 1776, Christian Weiss and his wife moved from Orlovskaya to Moscow.

Weis(s) (Orlovskaya-1)

An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following going to Russia:

(unnamed) Weise [sic], a saw smith (Sägeschmidt), with wife and 3 children, from the district of Dessau.

Gottlieb Weiss, a blacksmith (Schmied), his wife Magdalena, and children (Lebrecht, age 8; Karl, age 7; Johanna, age 5; Elisabeth, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Weisbro(d)t

Johann Detlev Weisbrot and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Vergelte Weintraube under the command of Skipper Anderson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23.

The 1798 census records Johann Heinrich Weisbrod in Straub in Household No. Sr17.

Johann Heinrich Weisbrod is recorded on the 1811 census of Dinkel in Household No. 18 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Straub in 1800.

Weinmeier

Michael Weinmeier and his family, including son Anton, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 25 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Maria Sophia under the command of Skipper Johann Bauert.

They settled in the Volga German colonie of Preuss on 16 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 84.

The 1798 census records Anton Weinmeier in Neu-Kolonie in Household No. Nk14.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Michael Weinmeier was a harness maker while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer.

Weinert (Urbach)

Michael Weinert, a single furrier, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Urbach on 13 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14 along with his new wife, Maria, and her son Georg Pflaum.

The Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Michael Weinert came from the German region of Anhalt Zerbst.

Weis(s) (Mariental)

Georg Weiss, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 16 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.

The 1767 census records that Georg Weiss came from the German village of Manderscheid in the Kurtrier region.

Weissbeck (Hildmann)

Jakob Weisbeck, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and cihldren (Johann, age 6; Maria, age 3; Anna Elisabeth, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Mathias under the command of Skipper David Wollert.

Jakob Weisbeck, a farmer, and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 20 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.

Wendler

Anton Wendler, a weaver, his wife Maria, and children (Christina, age 13; Anna, age 12; Katharina, age 10; Johann, age 9; Jakob, age 8; Louisa, age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
