Weller (Dinkel)*

Asmus Weller, a farmer, and his wife Wibke arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 27 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 43.

The 1767 census records that Asmus Weller came from the German village of Schönberg in the region of Mecklenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Weller family among the Volga German colonies.

Wiederhold(t) (Messer)

Johann Henrich Wiederhold from Niedergründau & Elisabetha Heil from Unternaubel were married on 22 June 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Johann Wiederhold and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Reders.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 14 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 90.

Wickart

Martin Wickhardt, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Louis on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20.

In 1788, Martin Wickart and his family moved from Louis to Katharinenstadt.

The 1767 census records that Martin Wickhardt came from the German village of Hosenfeld in the region of Fulda.

Wetter*

Johann Henrich Wetter from Perlenburg & Christina Nicodemus from Mehlbach were married on 17 May 1766 in the City Lutheran Church of Friedberg.

Johann Heinrich Wetter, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kukkus on 26 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 44.

Westpfale*

Joseph Westpfale, a weaver (Tuchweber), and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 22 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Der Junge Mattias under the command of Skipper Johann Gottfried Selander.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 1 July 1767. Anna died on 20 October 1767.

Joseph Westpfale is recorded on the 1767 census of Dehler in Household No. 39.

The 1767 census records that Joseph Westpfale came from the German village of Metz in the region of Lothringen.

Westmann

Friedrich Westmann, a single merchant (Kaufmann), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Conr. Fried. Westman [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 23 July 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 221.

Konrad Westmann left Katharinenstadt for an unknown destination.
