Wittig (Hockerberg)

Stephan Wittig, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.

They are recorded on the appendix to the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 48 along with his stepson Konrad Stein. There is also a note that they resettled to Hockerberg in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Stephan Wittig came from the German region of Wachbach.

Wittmann (Holstein)

Leonhard Wittmann, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Anna, and his sister Anna (age 21) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Kronstadt under the command of Lieutenant Samuel Gibbs.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Holstein on 7 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

The 1767 census records that Leonhard Wittmann came from the German village of Nelzinei (?) near Darmstadt.

Wolf (Stahl am Tarlyk)

Heinrich Wolf, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Der Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.

They settled in the Volga German colony of  Stahl am Tarlyk on 13 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 7.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Wolf came from the German village of Esnich in the Holstein region.

Wolf (Mariental)

Peter Wolf, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 56.

The 1767 census records that Peter Wolf came from the German region of Mainz.

Wohn (Rothammel)

Peter Wohn, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.

Brothers Christian & Peter Wohn, sons of Peter Wohn, are recorded on the 1798 census of Rothammel in Household No. Rt14 along with a note that Christian Wohn is working in the colony of Semenovka.

Wolf (Kaneau)

Widower Gottfried Wolf, a farmer, and two of his adult children (Anna, age 26; Christoph, age 21) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Widower Gottfried Wulff and his children (Anna Maria, age 26; Christopher, age 21) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that daughter Anna Maria died en route.

Wolf (Dönhof)

Brothers Andreas and Johann [Wilhelm] Wolf, both single, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Mathias under the command of Skipper David Wollert.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Households No. 82 & 83.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Andreas Wolf is a mechanic while the 1767 census records that both Andreas and Wilhelm are farmers.

Wolf (Grimm-1)*

Johann Georg Wolf, his wife Maria, and children (Johann, age 6; Anna, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Kronverk under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Ilyin.

Georg Wolf settled in the Volga German colony of Grimm and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41 along with his new wife Margaretha.

Georg Wolf, his wife Maria Margaretha, and daughter Katharina are recorded on the 1775 census of Grimm in Household No. 119.
