Riegner

Michael Regard [sic], a farmer from Würzburg, his wife Margaretha, and children (Margaretha, age 8; Fiet, age 5; Anna, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Kronverk under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Ilyin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Göbel on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.

Widower Michael Riegert [sic] and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Göbel in Household No. Gb28.

Redlow

Johann Andreas Redlow, a butcher (Fleischer), and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Merkel on 28 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 39 along with a stepdaughter.

The 1767 census records that Johann Andreas Redlow came from the German region of Magdeburg.

Rebensdorf

Friedrich Rebensdorf, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughter Elisabeth (age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Catharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 12 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.

The widow of Friedrich Rebensdorf and children are recorded on the 1798 census of Dinkel in Household No. Dn06.

Rausch (Louis)

Johannes Rausch, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Heinrich (age 1½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Louis in Household NO. 53. They had there on 14 June 1766.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Rausch came from the German village of Bitsch in the region of Lothringen.

Rau / Rau(s)ch (Keller)

Johann Rauch, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Catharina under the Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.

The parents and several children died after arrival in Russia. The remaining sons (Gottfried, age 13; Anton, age 11) settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22 where they are living with the Bartel Ebers family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Ebers and Rauch families.

Rau (Grimm-1)

Johann Baltzer [sic] Rau, son of Johannes Rau & Anna Catharina Keil, was born in Nieder-Ohmen on 22 March 1732, baptized there on 24 March 1732, and confirmed there on 5 June 1746.

He married in Nieder-Ohmen on 18 July 1755 to Maria Henckel, daughter of Johann Adam Henckel & Ctharina Margaretha Kißner.

Rau (Dinkel)

Anton Peter Rau, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 June 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the command of Skipper Paul Adolph Drath.

Anton Peter died after arriving in Russia and his widow Anna Maria remarried to widower Andreas Anderson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dinkel on 27 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 4 along with the Rau children.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton Peter Rau came from the German region of Holstein.

Röder (Messer)

Johann Adam Röder, a farmer, his wife Susanna, and children (Maria Dorothea, age 20; Anna Margaretha, age 10½; Johann, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.

Adam Röder, a farmer, his wife [new] Katharina, and children by his 1st wife (Maria Dorothea, age 20; Anna Margaretha, age 18; Johannes, age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Messer in Household No. 91. They had arrived in Messer on 14 September 1767.

Radÿ

Melchisedek Radi, a farmer, and his wife Dorothea Elisabeth arrived from Danzig at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 May 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Jacob Janson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 15 November 1766 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 27.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Melchisedek came from the German region of Dresden while the 1767 census records that he came from the region of Brandenburg.
