Schäfer (Warenburg-1)*

Johann Georg Schäfer, a barrel maker (Fassbinder), and his wife settled in Warenburg on 12 May 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Schäfer came from the German region of Nassau-Usingen.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schäfer family among the Volga German colonies.

Gertje

Wilhelm Gertje, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Johannes, age 9; Magdalena, age 7) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Wilhelm Gertje, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Johannes, age 12; Magdalena, age 10; Anna Maria, age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Rothammel in Household No. 8. They had settled in Rothammel on 21 August 1767.

Fuchs (Rothammel)

Jakob Fuchs, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and children (Rosina, age 7; Anna Maria 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Fuchs came from the German village of Schwäbisch Gmünd in the region of Schwaben (Swabia).

Frank (Rothammel-2)

Matthias Frank, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Matthias Frank is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28 along with his bride Agnessa.

The 1767 census records that Matthias Frank came from the German village of Lykershausen in the Kurpfalz region.

Engraff

Johann Adam Engraf, a farmer, his wife Anna, and son Johann (age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Johann Engraff and his wife Anna are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Rothammel on 21 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.

In 1788, Adam Engraf and his family moved from Rothammel to Volmer.
