Horn (Brabander)*

Gottfried Horn, a hosier (Strumpfwirker), and his wife Elisabeth arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 26 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 86.

The 1767 census records that Gottlieb [sic] came from the German village of Halle in the region of Brandenburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Horn family among the Volga German colonies.

Drewalski*

Johannes Drewalski, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.

Johan Frewalkoi [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 135.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johannes Drewalski came from Serbian (Serbia) while the 1767 census records that he came from Poland.

Brabander

Franz Joseph Brabander and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 13 August 1767 and are recorded thre on the 1767 census in Household No. 1. The 1767 census also notes that Franz Joseph Brabander is serving as the mayor (Vorsteher) of the colony. It is after him that the colony received its name.

In 1790, Johann Georg Brabander moved from Brabander to Dehler.

Bouillon

Johannes Bouillon, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard the galliot Der Jan under the command of Skipper Markus Dragun.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 5 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 71.

Töpfer / Toepfer (Boisroux)*

Christian Töpper & Dorothea Hoppe were married on 9 April 1766 in Roßlau.

Christian Töpfer, a farmer, and his wife Anna [sic] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Christ. Topffer and his wife Dorothea are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Christian Töpfer and his wife Dorothea [sic] settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 8.

Spengler (Boisroux)

David Spengeler, a farmer, his wife Rosina, and son Christian (age ½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pinkom.

Joh. Spengeler, his wife Johanna, and son Christian (age 1½) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 71.

Schu(h)mann (Boisroux)

Georg Schumann, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Maria, age 12; Johann, age 10; Werner, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Georg Schumann, his wife Anna Doroth., and children (Maria Doroth., age 12; Johann Christian, age 10; Johann Werner, age 8) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Schmidt (Boisroux-7)

Johann Georg Schmidt, the stepson of Johann Georg Bütner, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pinkom.

Georg Schmidt (and the Bütner family) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 along with his mother and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 58 along with his mother and stepfather, Johann Georg Bütner.

Schmidt (Boisroux-6)

Johann Michael Schmidt, a farmer, his wife Christina, and children (Maria, age 16½; Johann, age 10) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Joh. Mich. Schmit [sic], his wife Christiana [sic], and children (Maria Elisabeth, age 17; Johan David, age 10¼) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 59.
