Stahlmann (Dietel)

Abraham Stahlmann, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp. Arriving with them were Johann Friedrich Knobloch and his wife Anna Elisabeth née Stahlmann, presumed to be a daughter of Abraham Stahlmann.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Abraham Stahlmann came from the German region of Pfalz.

Ring / Rink (Dietel)

Andreas Ring, a carpenter, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 July 1766 on a Russian packet-boat named Svyatoi Nikolai (St. Nicholas) under the command of Midshipman Thomas McKenzie. Andreas died after arriving in Russia, and his widow Margaretha remarried to Christian David.

Pietsch (Dietel)

Johann Gottlieb Pietsch & Anna Margaretha Jungk were married on 14 July 1766 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Gottlieb Pietsch, a cobbler, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel.

Kuhn (Dietel)*

Adam Kuhn, a farmer, and his wife Gertruda arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.

Johannes [sic] Kuhn and his wife Gertraut are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Dietel.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Kuhn came from the German region of Zwingenberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Kuhn family among the Volga German colonies.

Gerhardt (Bangert)*

Johann Gerhardt, a farmer, and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Bangert on 26 June 1767.  Johann died there on 25 August 1767 and Katharina remarried to the widower Egidius Huber. They are recorded on the 1767 census of Bangert in Household No. 27 along with Johann Gerhardt's newborn son, Johannes (3 months old).

Kaiser (Balzer)

Johann Philipp Kaiser, son of Peter & Catharina Kaiser, was born 1 June 1741 in the German village of Eckartshausen.

He married in Eckartshausen on 10 August 1764 to Catharina Scheidmantel, daughter of Johann Adam & Catharina Scheidmantel. She had been baptized in Düdelsheim on 27 September 1744.

Schäfer (Warenburg-4)

Philipp Schäfer from Warenburg and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Kratzke in Household No. Kr15.

Philipp Schäfer and his son Johannes are recorded on the 1834 census of Kratzke in Households No. 77 & 78 along with a note that they relocated to Franzosen in 1825.

Johann [Philipp] Schäfer and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Franzosen in Household No. 91.

Schäfer (Warenburg-3)*

Andreas Schäfer, a miller (Müller), and his wife Charlotte Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 June 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Der Jäger under the command of Skipper Gabriel Will.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 142.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Schäfer came from the German village of Hofen in the Runkel region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Schäfer family among the Volga German colonies.

Schäfer (Warenburg-2)*

Johannes Schäfer, a farmer, and his wife settled in Warenburg on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 132.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Schäfer came from the German village of Steinbach in the Hessen-Kassel district.

There do not appear to be any surviving male descendants of this Schäfer family that continue among the Volga German colonies.
