Prediger
There are three Prediger brothers, all sons of Johann Jost Prediger, that settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 18 August 1767. They came from the German village of Homberg an der Ohm. All three arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the pink Cargo under the command of Lieutenant Moses Davydov.
(1) Widower Johann Jakob Prediger and his daughter Anna Margaretha (age 1½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Hildmann in Household No. 28.
Chevalier
Heinrich Chevalier, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johanna, age 17¼; Johann, age 15; Johann [again], age 13; Bernhard, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.
Heinrich Schwalje, his wife Elisabeth, and children (Johanna, age 17¼; Johann, age 15; Johann [again], age 13; Bernhard, age 3) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Bernhard died en route.
Nancy, département Meurthe-et-Moselle, France
Today, Nancy is located in the region of Lorraine in France. Its German name is Nanzig. Historically, this area was mostly inhabited by ethnic Germans and was part of the Duchy of Lothringen until 1766.
Bontemps (Brabander)
Bernhard Bontemps, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.
Bernhardt Bontang, his wife Catharina, and sons (Johannes, age 15; Nicolaus, age 5; Michael, age 4, died en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 40.
Böhm (Brabander)
Johann Ulrich Böhm, a carpenter (Zimmermann), his wife Anna Maria, and son Sigismundus (age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.
Johann Ulrich Böhm, his wife Anna Maria, and son Sigmundus (age 5) are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 85. They had settled in Brabander on 26 June 1767.
The death of Johann Ulrich Böhm in 1817 is recorded on the 1834 census of Brabander in Household No. 17.
Penzlin, Kr. Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Since 2009, Penzlin has been administratively part of the village of Groß Vielen.
Ziberius
Johann Georg Ziberius, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Joh. Georg Ziberius, his wife Sophia, and son Andreas (born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 73.
Seifert (Boisroux)*
Jakob Seifert, a blacksmith (Schmied), and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Joh. Jacob Seyfarth [sic] and his wife Susanna are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 50.
Gommern, Kr. Jerichower Land, Sachsen-Anhalt
Today, Gommern is located in Sachsen-Anhalt (Saxony-Anhalt).
