Strovinski

Michael Sdrawinski [sic], a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and children (Johann[es], age 10½; Christina, age 7) arrived from Reval at the port of Oranienbaum on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 17 February 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 22.

Johannes Strowinski and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Husaren in Household No. Hn27.

Gies (Walter)

Reinhard Gies, son of Hermann Gies, married Anna Maria Pfeiffer, daughter of Jost Pfeiffer, on 8 May 1727 in Burghaun. Baptisms for the following children of Reinhard Gies are recorded in Burghaun: (1) Anna Maria, 29 August 1730; (2) Maria Catharina, 28 March 1733; (3 & 4) twins Catharina Elisabetha and Eva, 14 February 1735; (5) Maria Catharina, 12 December 1737; (6) Johann Balthasar, 4 August 1740; and (7) Johannes, 16 January 1743. The Burghaun parish records also record the baptism on 20 April 1762 of Johann Heinrich Gies, the illegitimate son of Anna Eva Gies.

Bäcker / Becker (Walter-3)*

Johann Heinrich Becker, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Wilhelmina, age 18; Anna Katharina, age 15; Maria Gertrude, age 12; Johann Heinrich, age 6; Johann Wolf Hermann, age 4½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 25 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 62.

Walter (Walter-2)*

Johann Georg Walter, a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Julianna, and children (Peter, age 16; Georg, age 12; Anna, age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Walter in Household No. 72. They had settled there on 25 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that they came from the German village of Ische in the region of Hessen-Darmstadt.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Walter family among the Volga German colonies.

Schiefelbein

Christian Schiefelbein, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 on board the Danzig galliot Die Hoffnung under the command of Skipper Johann Heschke.

Christian Schiefelbein, a farmer, his wife Anna Dorothea, and children (Johann, age 11; Dorothea, age 6; Christian, age 1½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Husaren in Household No. 20. They had arrived in Husaren on 17 February 1767.

Peter Schiffelbein from Husaren and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Preuss in Household No. 83.

Rakuszewski

Jakob Rakuszewski, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 on board the Danzig galliot Die Hoffnung under the command of Skipper Johann Heschke.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Husaren on 17 February 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.

Pavil Rokoshevski and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Husaren in Household No. 83.

Konrad (Semenovka)

Jakob Konrad, a farmer, his wife Anna Maria, and his sons (Johann Heinrich, age 17; Nikolaus, age 12½; and Johann Peter, age 12) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.

Jacob Conradt [sic], Maria Cunigunda, and sons (Johann Henrich, age 18; Joh. Nicolaus, age 12; Johann Peter, age 2) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that son Johann Peter died en route.

Stür(t)z (Kutter-2)

Heinrich Jakob Stürz and his family immigrated to Russia.  The only surviving member of this family appears to be Friedrich who settled in the Volga German colony of Kutter where he is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 77 at age 15, living with the Georg Lorenz family. There is no relationship between the Lorenz and Stürz families recorded on the 1767 census.

Before 1798, Friedrich moved to the colony of Galka where he is recorded on the 1798 census in Household No. Gk19.
