Scharton

Abram Isaac Chardon, son of François Chardon originally from Corsica and his wife Marie Baud, was baptized in Blonay, Canton Vaud, Switzerland.

The marriage of Abraham Isaac Chardon from the area of Bern & Anna Maria Borell from Offenbach on 1 April 1766 is recorded in the parish register of the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Anna Maria Borell, daughter of Jacques & Susanne Borell, was born 14 June 1734 in Offenbach. [See Borell Family.]

Roth (Moor)*

Martin Roth, a farmer, his wife Anna, daughter Anna (age 6), and [nephew] Georg [Ernst] (age 20) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 [4 July 1766 per Plehve publication is incorrect] aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Martin Roth, a farmer, his wife Gertraud, daughter Maria Elisabeth (age ½), and orphaned nephew Hans Georg Ernst (age 21) are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 58. They had settled in Moor on 18 June 1767.

Gieswein

Johann Peter Gieswein, son of Balthas Gieswein, was born 31 May 1721 in Quentel. He married on 1 April 1752 in Quentel to Martha Elisabetha Letzig, daughter of Jeremias Letzig & Anna Gela Heinemann. Martha Elisabetha Letzig had been baptized 18 July 1729 in Quentel. Record of the baptism of one of their children has also been located in Quentel: Elisabeth, baptized 4 June 1752.

Jäkel (Moor)

Johann Georg Jäkel, son of Kaspar & Anna Elisabeth Jäkel, was born in Vonhausen on 1 December 1737.

Katharina Sorberger, daughter of Johann Georg & Susanna Sorberger, was born 10 July 1744 in Wolf.

Johann Georg Jäckel from Vonhausen and Catharina Sorberger, daughter of Johann Georg Sorberger, the school teacher (Schuldiener) from Wolff, were married on 16 April 1766 in Büdingen.

Georg Jäkel, a farmer, and his wife Katharina settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767.

Reuter (Moor)*

The baptisms of two children to Johann Conrad & Anna Maria Reuter have been located in the parish registers of Meerholz & Hailer: (1) Anna Dorothea, baptized 22 November 1762 in Meerholz; and (2) Johannes, baptized 19 September 1764 in Hailer.

Konrad Reuter, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 22; Katharina, age 17; Charlotta, age 13; Anna, age 11; Philipp, age 7; Johann, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat under the command of Midshipman Mankensey. 

Korell

Daniel Korell and his wife Martha Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Daniel Korell came from the German district of Hessen while the 1767 census records that he came from the German district of Isenburg.

LaVergne*

Ludwig LaVergne, a single stocking maker, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard a packet-boat under the command of Midshipman Mankensey.

Ludwig LaVergne, a craftsman (Handwerker), his [new] wife Susanna, and [step-]son Johann Georg [Rockel] (age 3) are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 27. They had settled in Moor on 18 June 1767.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Ludwig LaVergne came from France.

Rehm (Moor)

Silianus [sic] Rehm, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Kronstadt under the command of Lieutenant Samuel Gibbs.

Silianus [sic] Rehm, a farmer, and his [new] wife Anna Maria [Geis] are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 68 along with his mother-in-law Anna Kathairna Geis and her son Christoph (age 14). They had arrived in Moor on 1 July 1767, and a note records that they relocated to the colony of Huck in 1768. [See Geis Family.]

Mohr (Moor)

Jacob Mohr, son of Adam & Charlotte Mohr from Rathsweiler, married on 11 June 1744 in Ulmet to Anna Margaretha Edinger, daughter of Wilhelm Edinger from Oberalben.

The baptisms of two of their children are recorded in the parish register of Ulmet: (1) Abraham, baptized 4 October 1744; and (2) Simon, baptized 4 December 1746.

Lein (Moor)

Johann Conrad Lein, son of Nicolaus Lein, was born 24 August 1727 in Kirchbracht. He married in Kirchbracht on 8 October 1751 to Anna Barbara Pfister, daughter of Jacob Pfister. Anna Barbara Pfister had been born in Kirchbracht on 17 January 1728.
