Bickert (Moor-1)

Johann Heinrich Bichert, son of Jacob & Anna Elisabeth Bichert, was baptized in Düdelsheim on 13 June 1714.

Johann Heinrich Bichert, a stocking weaver from Düdelsheim, married on 9 April 1744 in Eckartshausen to Catharina Reichert, daughter of Jacob & Anna Barbara Reichert from Himbach.

Brettmann

There are three Bretmann families from the village of Hailer that migrated to the Volga German colonies. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) Johann Georg Brettman, son of Philipp Brettmann, was baptized 9 September 1726 in Hailer. On 29 November 1753, he married in Meerholz to Anna Catharina Keysler, daughter of Peter Keysler from Lutzelhausen.

Brandau*

There are two Brandau families that migrated to Russia from Rotenburg. There relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) Johann Heinrich Brandau, son of Georg Brandau, was born 5 December 1721 in Rotenburg an der Fulda.

Heinrich Brandau, a farmer, his wife Anna, and daughter Angel[ina] (age 16) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Kronstadt under the command of Lieutenant Samuel Gibbs.

Betz (Moor)*

Johann Caspar Betz, son of Johann Philipp & Anna Margaretha Betz, was born 31 August 1727 in Vonhausen.

Albertina Frickel, daughter of Anton Frickel, was born 25 April 1723 in Lieblos.

The marriage of Johann Caspar Betz & Albertina Frickel on 19 September 1754 is recorded in the parish register of Lieblos.

The baptism of the daughter of Johann Caspar Betz & Albertina Frickel is recorded in the parish register of Lieblos: Anna Elisabeth, baptized 4 September 1757.

Bender (Moor)*

Michael Bender, a farmer, and his family settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 1 July 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.

The 1767 census records that Michael Bender came from the German Kurpfalz area.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Bender among the Volga German colonies.

Hehn

Heinrich Hehn, a farmer, and his wife settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 15 January 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16 along with his stepchildren Johann David Hubert & Johann Wilhelm Hubert.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Hehn came from the German region of Kurpfalz.

Hubert (Moor)

Andreas Hubert, a farmer, and his family arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum  on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 15 January 1767. Andreas died and his widow remarried to Heinrich Hehn. They and the two Hubert sons are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Hubert came from the German region of the Pfalz.

Kembel / Kempel (Moor)

Johann Melchior Kempel, son of Conrad Kempel, was baptized on 4 August 1713 in Mauswinkel.  He married on 21 February 1741 to Anna Margaretha Preis, the widow of Christophel Eÿßenhuth [see Eisenhuth family].

Johann Melchior & Anna Margaretha had at least three children, each born in Mauswinkel: (1) Johann Philipp, born 5 April 1743, baptized 7 April 1743; (2) Johann Conrad, born 30 April 1745, baptized 2 May 1745; and (3) Anna Elisabetha, born 21 November 1747, baptized 29 November 1747.  

Barthuly (Moor)*

Abraham Bartule ("colonist") married Salome Frederich on 25 March 1766 in Magdeburg, Brandenburg.

Abram Barthuly and his wife Salomea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Catharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.

Abraham Bartole [Barthuly] and his wife Salome Friederika settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

As of 1798, widow Salome Barthuly from Moor is living in Laub.

Zimmermann (Moor)

Johann Nickel and Elisabetha Catharina Zimmerman had at least two sons:

(1) Georg Heinrich Zimmerman was baptized in Simmern on 5 February 1736. He married Maria Anna Christina Meuers, daughter of Phillip and Anna Christina Meuers, in Simmern on 20 April 1762. She had been born 30 January 1743 and baptized 3 February 1743 in Sargenroth.
