Stein (Orlovskaya)*

Melchior Stein, a carpenter, his wife Katharina, and children (Christoph age 8; Konrad, age 4; and Anna, age 1½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the galliot Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Johann Joachim Janson.

Melchior Stein, his wife Catarina, and children (Christopher, age 9; Conrad, age 4; Anna Maria, age 2; Eleonora, born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Tiede (Katharinenstadt-3)

Johannes Tiede, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Johann Thiette [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Tiede, a single weaver (Weber), is recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 192. He had settled there on 3 August 1767.

Johann Tiede and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or40.

Thomson (Orlovskaya)*

Daniel Tomsen, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.

Daniel Tamson [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Daniel Thomson and his wife Dorothea are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 85. They had settled there on 7 June 1767.

Daniel Thomson and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or45.

Vogt (Orlovskaya)

Jakob Vogt, a potter (Töpfer), and his wife Elisabeth are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 41. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.

In 1774, Friedrich Vogt and his wife moved from Orlovskaya to Katharinenstadt.

In 1787, Friedrich Vogt and his wife moved from Katharinenstadt to the Caucasus where he died. His widow remarried a man in Paulskaya.

The 1767 census records that Jakob Vogt came from the German village of Staßfurt.

Wagner (Orlovskaya)

Johann Heinrich Wagner, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and son Franz (age 2-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 62. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.

Franz Wagner and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or49.

Franz Wagner and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 60.

The 1767 census records that Johann Heinrich Wagner came from the German village of Großbothen [?].

Wegner (Orlovskaya)*

Martin Wegner and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. Or50.

The death of Martin Wegner in 1828 is recorded on the 1834 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 118.

There are no known surviving male descendants of this Wagner family among the Volga German colonies.

Zöllner*

Gottfried Zöllner arrived from Lübeck at the port in Oranienbaum on 21 September 1766.

Gottfried Zölner [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

This may be the same Gottfried Zöllner who is recorded in Orlovskaya as follows:

Gottfried Zöllner (age 19) and his sister Wilhelmina (age 15) are recorded on the 1767 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 11 along with their stepfather Heinrich Goldorf. They had settled there on 3 August 1767.

Weiland (Orlovskaya)

In 1789, Wilhelm Weiland and his wife moved from Orlovskaya to Bettinger.

Wilhelm Weiland from Orlovskaya and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Bettinger in Household No. Bt24.

Christian Weiland, son of Wilhelm Weiland, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Orlovskaya in Household No. 34.
