Schäfer (Grimm-5)

The following Schäfer families in Grimm are believed to be related to each other, but this needs to be confirmed by further research.

(1) Johannes Schäfer (senior) and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm129.

(2) Johannes Schäfer (junior) and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm127.

(3) Heinrich Schäfer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Grimm in Household No. Gm134.

Himmel / Rimmel (Huck)*

There are 3 orphaned girls on the 1767 census of Huck, living with 3 different families. They are believed to be siblings, but the surnames of their father is recorded as Rimwlin, Rimmel, & Himmel.

(1) Anna Margaretha Rimwlin (age 16½), daughter of the deceased Johannes Rimwlin, is recorded on the 1767 census of Huck in Household No. 4 along with the Ernst Heidenreich family. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Rimwlin and Heidenreich families.

Häfner (Huck)*

Peter Häfner and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Huck in Household No. Hk20.

Peter Häfner and the descendants of his stepchildren are recorded on the 1811 census of Huck in Household No. 20.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hefner family among the Volga German colonies.

Bless (Huck)*

This surname appears to be an error on the Huck 1798 census (Households No. Hk09 & Hk75). It may refer to Eloiß, the first name of the father of Adam Michel - perhaps in an effort to distinguish this Michel family from that of Ludwig Georg Michel who also settled in Huck and who came from a German village near the one from where Eloiß came.

This surname of Bless, if it actually exists in Huck, definitely does not continue from the 1798 to the 1811 census of Huck.

Trump(f) (Hockerberg)

Sebastian Trumpf and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Hockerberg in Household No. Hb14.

In 1793, Johann Jakob Trumpf moved from Hockerberg to Bettinger.

Jakob Trumpf from Hockerberg and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Bettinger in Household No. Bt18.

Bauser

Nicolaus Bauser(t), son of Simon Bauser(t) of Waldwisse, married on 11 April 1747 in Waldwisse to Anna Mouson, daughter of Peter Mouson.

Fridericus Bauser, son of Nicolai Bauser & Anna Mouson, was born in Waldwisse on 18 June 1752.

Friedrich Bausert, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Seelmann on 16 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 89.
