Sauer (Schönchen)

There are 2 Sauer families recorded in the Volga German colony of Schönchen. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) In 1790, Jakob Sauer moved from Schönchen to Luzern. Jakob Sauer from Schönchen and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Luzern in Household No. Lz30.

(2) Heinrich Sauer and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn01.

Renke

Christian Renke, his wife Maria, and daughter Dorothea (age 5) are recorded on the 1767 census of Schönchen in Household No. 12. They had settled there on 17 August 1767.

In 1774, Christian Renke moved from Schönchen to Penza.

The 1767 census records that Christian Renke came from the village of Seseneweks [?].

Lechner (Schönchen)

Peter Lechner, a farmer, and his wife Margaretha settled in the Volga German colony of Schönchen on 17 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14.

The 1767 census records that Peter Lechner came from the German village of Ochsenthal.

Zitzer (Schulz)

Johannes Zitzer, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and son Adam Christian are recorded on the 1767 census of Schulz in Household No. 27. They had settled there on 15 June 1767.

He is recorded on the 1798 census of Schulz in Household No. Sz05. Christian Zitzer and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schulz in Household No. Sz17.

In 1795, Johannes Zitzer (son of the previous Johannes Zitzer) moved from Schulz to Schwed.

Johann Zitzer from Schulz and his family are recorded on the1798 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. Sk13.

Kreiss (Schulz)

There are 3 Kreiss families recorded in Schulz. Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.

(1) Jakob Kreiss and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schulz in Household No. Sz01.

(2) Heinrich Kreiss and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schulz in Household No. Sz09.

(3) Friedrich Kreiss and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Schulz in Household No. Sz17.

Kniff*

In 1787, Wilhelm Kniff moved from Schulz to Rohleder.

Wilhelm Kniff and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Rohleder in Household No. Rl33 along with a note that they are living in Herzog.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.

Tak (Schuck)*

Johann Tak, a farmer, his wife Eva Katharina, and son Nikolaus (age 16) are recorded on the 1767 census of Schuck in Household No. 36. They had settled there on 1 May 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Tak came from the German region of Trier.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
